5 Tricks to Help You Succeed in Online School

Tips and Tricks Blue and Gray August 9, 2016

You’re a smart kid. You figured out online school can help you graduate faster and gives you the freedom to do more of the things you enjoy.

We put together some tips to help you make the most of your fall semester at The Bridge School. Enjoy!

Find a Comfortable Study Space

Traditional schools force you to work in cold and stuffy classrooms. You’re stuck in a desk that keeps getting smaller, and there’s probably a seating chart. No wonder most students find it hard to focus.

At TBS, we let you work where you work best; it could be on the sofa, laying on the floor, or in a quiet spot outdoors. As long as there is enough light, minimal distractions and Wi-Fi, the choice is yours.

Establish a Routine

You don’t have to be at school Monday through Friday. You don’t have to wake up early to get there. And we aren’t going to make you take math or science when you’re still half asleep.

But just because online school gives you freedom, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t follow a routine. Find what works for you, and stick with it.

Control Distractions

It’s simple:

  • Limit your time on social media
  • Don’t have Netflix on in the background
  • Turn down your music while you study
  • Take a break from Pok?mon Go
  • Leave pets and siblings in the other room

Ask questions

Now that we’ve talked about creating a productive study environment, it’s time to share our best tip.

If you want to make good grades in online school, ask more questions.

Our certified online instructors are available by text, email, Skype and other methods to assist you. They want to help you succeed, so don’t be afraid to reach out if they don’t contact you first.

Reward Yourself

After you’ve completed some of your assignments, or finished a solid study session, treat yourself. Take a break and enjoy the flexibility of online school at TBS.
