An Alternative to Rice University Summer School for 2013

Summer School Graphic March 22, 2013

If you have been counting down the days until enrollment opens for the prestigious Rice University Summer School program, listen up!  It has been announced they will no longer offer a Summer School program for 2013.

In past years, parents and students have clamored for a spot in one of the core courses such as English, Math, Science and Social Studies and scrambled to beat the enrollment deadline for the upper level AP courses.  The hustle was all driven by the fact that there was a limit on the number of courses offered and on the number of students allowed in each open course.  There was essentially a cap on summer school courses.  In fact, the Rice University courses filled up so quickly in 2012, that The Bridge School got a lot of overflow enrollments.

So after a successful 2012 summer school program, we are once again accepting enrollments for our 2013 online accredited summer school program.  Here are some of the details:

ENROLLMENT PERIOD: March 1st – July 13th, 2013
(Dates are for Summer School only; don’t forget we offer open enrollment throughout the regular school year)

SUMMER SCHOOL COURSES: June 1st – Sept 14th, 2013 (for any 9-week period)

COST: $275 per course
($250 per course for multiple courses).
(Dual Credit and AP Courses are $499 plus a one-time $50 enrollment fee plus supplies.  Supply costs will vary depending on the course.  Call Academic Advisors for a list)

Benefits of The Bridge School online middle and high school summer courses:

  • There is no capacity on the number of students who can enroll in a course.
  • We are approved by the Texas Education Agency through TEPSAC: School # 101-232-001.
  • We are also SACS CASI Accredited.
  • (We are held to the same standards as the Rice University summer school courses)
  • We are offering over 100 courses, including several Dual Credit and AP courses.
  • Students can access course curriculum 24/7 anytime and anywhere they have Internet access.  So they can work, go to camp, attend sports training, have fun with their friends and family and get their school work done when it’s convenient.
  • Parents can access our secure Parent Portal and monitor their student’s progress 24/7.
